New Year, New Blog Goals

It’s a new year. Yes, I know it’s been a new year for two whole months now, but I’m trying to make a fresh start so bear with me. I’ve been reading about how blogging can help build your small business. According to my research to actually use a blog to build your business, you have to actually blog—preferably every day. It seems so simple, and yet it is so hard to find the time to sit down and write a post once a week, let alone once a day.

This post is my attempt to jump-start my new resolution to blogging. I’ll be updating my Task List to reflect my business goals for 2012. They range from blogging every day, to utilizing social media more for advertising purposes, to opening a business bank account.

I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to being a business owner. I feel very confident in my ability as a writer/editor to meet the needs of my clients, but when it comes to running my business….I have a lot to learn. That’s what this blog is all about. I’ll be sharing my  experiences and research to help anyone else who is trying to build a business they can run from home.

If you have any tips, experiences, or gripes about being a home-based business owner, please share your comments. Home-based business owners, unite!
